From Start to Finish: 5 Ways to Support Yourself on Any Journey

In today’s fast-paced world, the journey toward success can often feel like an uphill battle. It’s easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of daily life, losing sight of what truly matters. However, one of the most crucial aspects of any journey toward success is learning to trust yourself. Trusting your intuition and instincts, finding community, designing a schedule that works for you, and balancing accountability with self-compassion are just a few of the key factors that can help you stay motivated and focused on your goals. In this blog post, we’ll explore each of these topics in more detail, offering tips and strategies to help you stay on track toward success.

1. The Importance of Trusting Yourself on Your Journey to Success

Your gut instinct is a powerful tool that can guide you toward the right path in life. Whether it’s a feeling of unease or a rush of joy, paying attention to your intuition can help you make important decisions. For instance, if you’re on a wellness journey, it’s important to listen to your instincts and avoid forcing yourself to eat bland, unappetizing food. Trusting yourself and your body’s needs can make all the difference in achieving your goals. We aren’t about that life here. We need sazon in our food, Okay?!

2. Find Community: The Power of Connecting with Like-Minded People

Finding a community of like-minded individuals going through similar experiences can be one of the best things you can do for yourself on any journey. In 2021, I joined 2 different masterminds and found groups of people that I still connect with to this day. We meet virtually, share our frustrations, support each other through new endeavors, and hold each other accountable during work sessions.

I also created a group of beginner content creators who were looking to find a community. Starting in August of 2022, we meet bi-monthly and have gotten to know each other on a deeper level than I ever imagined. Every person in that group shines in their own way, and I am grateful for every single one of them. Finding and creating community has been crucial to my personal and professional growth, and I encourage you to seek out your own communities to support you on your journey.

3. Designing a Schedule that Fits Your Unique Lifestyle and Goals

A well-optimized schedule is essential for any journey, allowing you to balance the demands of work, family, and personal life. Whether you’re a night owl or an early bird, finding a schedule that fits your lifestyle is key.

For example, I’m not a morning person and struggle to wake up, so hitting the gym in the morning isn’t ideal for me. Instead, I’ve found that working out right after work is a perfect time. By then, my body is already warmed up and ready to go, and I can fuel up with a snack an hour before leaving work. After a workout or barre class, I replenish my body with a protein drink and have a high-protein dinner a few hours later.

Once my workout and dinner are out of the way, I can focus on other aspects of my life. I spend time cleaning up the house, showering, and getting into my pajamas, and then enjoy quality time with my husband while watching our favorite shows. By creating a schedule that works for me, I’m able to optimize my time and energy, ensuring that I can tackle all of life’s demands without feeling overwhelmed.

4. How Journaling or Posting on Social Media Can Help You Stay Accountable and Inspired on Your Journey

Through my experience, I have found that journaling and posting on social media can both help with accountability and inspiration on your journey. Journaling provides a private space for reflection and tracking progress. Meanwhile, posting on social media can create a community of support and motivation.

To get started with journaling, choose a notebook or app that works for you and make a habit of writing regularly. Write about your successes, struggles, and lessons learned. As for social media, share your journey with your followers and use relevant hashtags to connect with others on a similar path. The sense of community and support can help keep you motivated and accountable.

Initially, I was hesitant to post on social media, but now I enjoy connecting with my audience through daily updates. Sharing my financial journey has not only helped me stay accountable but has also inspired others on their own journeys. With journaling and social media, you can stay on track toward your goals and feel supported along the way.

5. Balancing Accountability with Self-Compassion

When embarking on any journey, discipline is key to achieving success. It requires consistency, perseverance, and hard work. However, it’s important to remember that giving yourself grace is equally as important. It’s easy to become overwhelmed and discouraged when things don’t go according to plan, but it’s crucial to allow yourself to make mistakes and learn from them. The journey toward your goals is not always a smooth one, and it’s important to give yourself room for error. This doesn’t mean you should make excuses or allow yourself to slack off, but rather to acknowledge that missteps are a natural part of the process. By giving yourself grace, you can maintain a positive mindset and avoid falling into a cycle of self-doubt and negativity. Additionally, giving yourself grace can help you stay motivated and focused on your goals. Instead of beating yourself up over mistakes, use them as opportunities for growth and improvement. Remember, discipline and grace go hand in hand when it comes to achieving success on any journey.

Giving yourself grace is crucial on any journey, especially for recovering perfectionists. In the past, the fear of failure would often lead to giving up entirely. However, taking a break and allowing yourself the space to make mistakes can be a powerful tool in staying motivated and moving forward. For instance, taking a week off from going to the gym doesn’t mean that you’ve failed. It just means that you’re giving yourself the chance to rest and recharge, so you can come back stronger. By embracing this mentality of self-compassion and understanding that progress is not always linear, you can maintain a positive mindset and continue to work towards your goals.


In conclusion, trusting yourself, finding community, designing a schedule that fits your unique lifestyle and goals, journaling or posting on social media, and balancing accountability with self-compassion are all crucial steps in achieving success on any journey. By incorporating these strategies into your routine, you can stay motivated, accountable, and focused on your goals.
